Our food experiences can tickle, entice and even empower.

For author Elizabeth Gilbert, writer of the popular novel "Eat Pray Love" and upcoming Victoria College Lyceum speaker, behind every plate there was a story.

The Advocate is partnering with the college to learn your food stories through photos and print. Tell us how food has shaped your culture, memories or life experience and you could be recognized in print, receive a signed copy of Gilbert's book "Eat Pray Love" and hear her speak.

Submissions are accepted online via Your Photos. Include a photo of the food you are writing about and tell us why it inspires or moves you. Log onto www.victoriaadvocate.com and click onto the Your Photo section. Gilbert will speak March 30.

The contest deadline is March 11.
