Fire destroyed two mobile homes and damaged another on Sunday afternoon in the 100 block of Shannon Drive.
The cause is still unknown said Victoria Fire Department Battalion Chief Tracy Fox.
Fox also said two firefighters were taken to a local hospital after suffering from dehydration.
The owner of one of the destroyed homes, Eddie Shaw, said she was outside just before 5 p.m. when she noticed the blaze and called the fire department.
"I saw smoke. I saw fire. I almost forgot how to call 911," she said.
Shaw, 67, said at first the dispatcher helped keep her calm.
Her neighbor, Laura Stevens, also reported the fire after seeing flames coming from Shaw's air conditioner.
The homes of Janet Almeda and Randy Benes were unoccupied because the families were out of town. Members of both families were notified.
Fox said that wind and the homes' close proximity played a factor in the spread of the fire. He added that a gas meter caught fire and AEP shut off power in the neighborhood.
As of 6:30 p.m., the power was still out.
Three fire engines, one ladder truck and four ambulances responded to the call. He added that the Victoria Fire Academy Alumni Association responded to rehab the firefighters. It took close to one hour to contain the fire.
The Crossroads Chapter of the American Red Cross came to assist the residents of the three structures.
This isn't the first time Shaw has lost her home to fire. Twenty-three years ago, she lost everything to a house fire about Christmastime.
"We've learned material things aren't important," Shaw's daughter, Kim Shaw, said.
Although, Shaw, a mother of four, has to rebuild again, she said she still counts her blessings. "God gave me my life," she said.

God was looking out for everyone this day. He gave us a wonderful, knowledgeful and hard working individuals who put out this fire. The fire department and others were just great. ALL I CAN SAY is THANK YOU for doing a great job in maintaining this fire.
July 4, 2011 at 7:51 a.m.Glad everyone is okay. I live one street over from where this took place. You have no idea how flooded my street and this street got with onlookers. People need to take in consideration that an emergency has taken place and only emergency personell are needed. Firefighters, police officers, and EMT's dont need people being nosey and interfering with their jobs. If you want to know what happened pick up the paper or turn on the news.
