Crossroads area women are urged to leave their husbands and children at home, grab their girlfriends and head over to the Texas Zoo's first ever Ladies Night at the zoo.
The event, a fundraiser organized by the Texas Zoo board members, will take place at the zoo, 110 Memorial Drive, at 5 p.m. Thursday.
"This is just another way to support the zoo while you do what you would normally do - shop," said Andrea Blomberg, Texas Zoo executive director.
Blomberg said the zoo hopes to raise at least $1,000 to go toward general operating expenses.
Zoo guests will get to not only view the animals, but they will also have an opportunity to shop until they drop.
Several vendors will have booths, selling everything from jewelry and candles, to handbags and clothes.
"There will be lot's of specials for people to enjoy," said Blomberg.
