Street restrictions due to construction

Victoria will close the intersection of Red River Street and Ben Wilson Drive for one week, starting Monday.

Several of the streets in this area will be closed to through traffic, including Ben Wilson Street at Airline Road; Ben Wilson Street at Business U.S. 59; Red River Street at Catalpa Street and Red River Street at Ben Jordan Street.

Workers will remove and replace an existing sanitary sewer line.

The construction should be completed over this one week period, weather permitting.

All businesses and residences in the construction zone will remain open and accessible, and the public is encouraged to continue to support businesses in the work zone area. Through-traffic can avoid delays in the work zone by seeking alternate routes.

This construction is part of the $2.14 million Red River Street Sanitary Sewer and Rehabilitation/Overlay Project (Sam Houston Drive to Ben Jordan Street). The contractor performing the work is Lester Contracting, Inc. of Port Lavaca.

Ben Jordan/Sam Houston intersection

Ben Jordan Street will be closes on Monday to through traffic at the intersection of Sam Houston Drive.

Work is expected to be completed by Friday

Westbound traffic on Ben Jordan Street will be allowed to turn north on Sam Houston Drive or detour to Travis Street for southbound access to Sam Houston Drive. Eastbound traffic on Ben Jordan Street will be able to turn north or south on Sam Houston Drive.

All businesses in the construction zone will remain open and accessible, and the public is encouraged to continue to support businesses in the work zone. Through-traffic can avoid delays in the work zone by seeking alternate routes.

This construction is part of the $17.99 million Sam Houston Drive Reconstruction Project (Laurent Street to Business 59). The contractor is SER Construction Partners, of Pasadena.

Victoria Station/Sam Houston

The city will close Victoria Station Drive at the intersection of Sam Houston Drive for paving on Wednesday.

Construction should be completed by Thursday, weather permitting.

All businesses in the construction zone will remain open and accessible, and the public is encouraged to continue to support businesses in the work zone. Through-traffic can avoid delays in the work zone by seeking alternate routes.
