  • """I didn't go to school for business. I've never done payroll," said Tisdale. "I underpaid them because I didn't pay them."""
It doesn't take a business degree to know you have to pay your employees.

  • Remember Vick from Dodge City?

There was a guy that REALLY KNEW how to run a club!

He threw our group out with a smile, we went home and finished the

    party!

And went back to Dodge City many many more times thru the years.

  • I'm with moneyman...experienced management. That ex bartender should be behind the bar not trying to run the show. Nothing in this article surprises me. I always thought of that place as somewhat of a dive anyway. Do Victoria a favor and just stay closed.

  • Is this the same Rudy Cardenas that was a truckdriver for McCoy's that hit the skateboarder on John Stockbauer years ago?? And this very incident that prompted the skateboard park ???

Maybe the VA can fact check this in their archives.
Mr. Cardneas seems to always be in the mist of things.

  • Looking at this pic. seems like to me every time this guy walks by a mirror he has to stop and admire himself. Nothing COOL about that

    July 20, 2011 at 2:35 p.m.
  • Rudy is Victoria's Dalton. Look at his steely eyes, those starched jeans, that black hat. If this man's look doesn't mean business, then I don't know what does.

Me thinks Mr. Tisdale should have opened a ballroom dancing studio. He has a background in that, and with all of the stupid people watching that crap on tv, he should have a large clientele.

  • The last time I was in Cowgirls, please correct me if I am wrong, but I saw employees of the Hispanic race, Black race and White race and of all ages! And some of them have been there since I started going there back in 2010. So, how was he discriminated against and the others weren't?

    July 20, 2011 at 1:41 p.m.
  • don't feel bad. my comment was deleted also. i guess the truth hurts, me saying he is playing the race card!!

  • Black hat, Black coat and vest in 100 + degree heat? I would be a puddle in about 2 min.

  • Advocate-why was my comment deleted? The other posts here are way more out of line than what I said. Did I hurt someones feelings at the paper? Seems like all my posts have been getting deleted. Wish I had the power to hit delete on some of the crap you post every day!

  • Lets just keep the blame game where the blame lies. THE OWNER! That is who is responsible for a good establishment period.

    July 20, 2011 at 12:21 p.m.
  • Any club in Victoria ought to hire this dude just for aesthetic effects. When Rudy struts around he just radiates ‘COOL.” Dude ought to be Victoria’s Marlboro Man in that silly Boots Tourist Campaign, really, look at him standing looking so COOL in that scorching heat.

OldTimePhotos – You go get him gal !!!

  • I'm glad that bar is getting back a taste of how they treat people! Stacie, nor the "security" have no couth. Walking around like they are too important to treat customers with respect. Maybe if your bartenders were following TABC laws you wouldn't serve people past the legal limit and fights would not occur. Also, your "security" can NOT go around assaulting people and reaching into their cars. I hope everyone that has been assaulted by their staff steps up and shuts them down for good.

  • Here is a better plan...
Go to a Liqour store and by a bottle.
Stop at HEB or Walmart and get your favorite thing to mix in the Liquor.
While in Walmart or HEB find you a male or female that looks about right for you. Spend a few minutes talking to them to find out if they are good enough for you.
Invite them home for a "friends with benefits" evening.
    Count the money you saved.

Dancing and playing pool long enough to figure out if you can find an available mate for a day is a waste of time and MONEY.

  • oh hell THE DOUBLE DUECE was safer than Cowgirls and i know Cowgirls need someone like Dalton (aka ) Patrict S,i know he's gone but it would be nice if victoria had a dalton

    July 20, 2011 at 9:11 a.m.
  • Cowgirls is GHETTO! There aren't any nice places in Victoria to have a drink which is why I never go out anywhere when visiting. Plus, I'm more likely to get stabbed at a bar in Vic than here in Houston LOL

    July 20, 2011 at 7:48 a.m.
  • Okay I read all of that and I'm trying to figure out who is dumping money into that place while any return on the investment is flying out the door in the form of fines and settlements.

    Epic Fail.

  • Well things happen when you hire a ex bartender with no business experience to run things for you. Lot more than a pretty face is needed to run a night club especially one the size of this one. As far as his other club that was a hole in the wall with a whole lot of problems. He needs to hire experience people to run things for him and from out of town, someone with no ties to this town. His staff can be from here but his management should be from out of town. That is my opinion from working the clubs for 30 plus years.
