The movie "High School Musical" danced into so many hearts because it's relatable. The feelings of love, acceptance and self-discovery can be felt by all.

Nielsen reported the film was the highest rated Disney Channel Original Movie during its release. The musical was so successful, it became part of a trilogy.

Cliques in the movie are well-defined and the jocks, brainiacs and thespians all stereotyped the others.

However, the lead characters, Troy and Gabriella, challenged the hierarchy of status-quo.

They both discovered their love of performance, but for others' selfish motives, they were torn apart.

Friends of Gabriella wanted her to compete in the scholastic decathlon. The whole school needed Troy to compete in the championship game.

The music is contagious. Admittedly, I've even sang a couple of songs to myself.

It is a family-friendly film that both children and adults can enjoy.

The theme that resonated throughout the movie is - one person can make a difference.
