Emergency personnel help an unidentified woman while her silver Dodge is towed in the background after her vehicle and a black Jeep collided Saturday at the intersection of Ben Jordan and Wildwood Streets.

One woman was transported Saturday to Citizens Medical Center after a two-car collision at the intersection of Ben Jordan and Wildwood streets.

The woman, travelling north on Ben Jordan Street, was attempting to make a left hand turn onto Wildwood Street in a silver Dodge Avenger but failed to yeild the right-of-way to a black Jeep traveling south on Ben Jordan Street, resulting in a collision at 3:38 p.m., according to Victoria Police Department senior patrol officer John Swenson.

According to police reports, the driver of the Dodge as Bernice Tipton, 80, of Victoria, and the driver of the Jeep as Bianca Gaona, 23, of Victoria.

Gaona was not taken to the hospital, but Tipton was transported to Citizens Medical Center for further medical examination, Swenson said.

A hospital spokeswoman said Tipton was treated and released.

The accident is under investigation, but Swenson said he does not anticipate there will be a citation issued.
