Don landfall should come during early morning hours

At 10 a.m., outer rain bands of Tropical Storm Don are nearing the Texas Coast, according to the National Weather Service.

The storm is 190 miles southeast of Corpus Christi moving north northwest at 14 mph. Maximum sustained winds continue at 50 mph.

Projections have Don making landfall near Baffin Bay about 4 a.m. The Victoria area is expected to only receive about inch of rainfall, according to the National Weather Service.

A tropical storm warning remains in place from the mouth of the Rio Grande River to Matagorda.
