New Guadalupe River Bridge opens for traffic in Hochheim

Those travelling on the Guadalupe River Bridge will now use the new half while the other side gets demolished and rebuilt.

Workers have finished construction on half of the new Guadalupe River Bridge in Hochheim in DeWitt County.

Travelers along U.S. Highway 183 will use the partially completed new bridge, starting Thursday. The old bridge that is right next to the new one will be demolished. Later, the rest of the new bridge will be completed.

The construction is expected to take about five months.
