Construction causes street closures

Several streets will have altered traffic routes starting Monday for on going construction projects in downtown and on Sam Houston Drive.

Wheeler Street will be reduced to one-lane, northbound between River and Murray streets on Monday.

Workers are constructing a sanitary sewer. The project should take a week.

This construction is part of the $2.2 million downtown water and sewer line replacements. The contractor is Matula & Matula Construction, of Lake Jackson.

Liberty Street will be reduced to one-lane, southbound between Commercial and Power streets on Monday.

Workers are constructing a sewer line. The project should take a week.

Wheeler Street will be reduced on Tuesday to one-lane, southbound between Commercial Street and Goodwin Avenue.

Workers are constructing a water line, and the work is expected to take one week.

These two projects are part of the $2.6 million downtown water and sewer line replacements). The contractor is SER Construction Partners of Pasadena.

Leary Lane will be closed between Sam Houston and Fannin drives on Monday.

Workers are installing water, sanitary and storm sewers. The project should take a week.

This construction is part of the $18 million Sam Houston Drive reconstruction project (Laurent Street to Business 59). The contractor is SER Construction Partners of Pasadena.
