A Harlingen man was arrested Wednesday after Texas Department of Public Safety troopers seized about 11 pounds of cocaine from his truck.

Steven Andrew Sanchez, 21, was stopped on suspicion of a traffic offense on U.S. Highway 59 at the intersection of state Highway 185 about 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, said Gerald Bryant, DPS spokesman.

The trooper received consent to search the 2003 white Ford F-150 and found four bundles of cocaine in the bed liner of the truck.

The street value of the cocaine is worth more than $318,000, Bryant said.

The man was traveling from Harlingen to Houston, Bryant said.

Sanchez is jailed on a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance charge.
