  • This did not stop the city from re-routing the drainage ditch between N. Main St. and N. Vine St. where Airline hits N. Main years ago. Of course one of the owners having a family member on the city council at the time at nothing to do with that.

Once again, this benefited a Victoria Insider so it's not of private benefit

  • "One is that the city re-route the water. That isn't feasible since natural waterways move back to their natural course, Gwosdz said."

Now there is a perfect square parcel of land fronting Main with no drainage ditch cutting that parcel in half and limiting the amount of depth and frontage on Main.

  • You make a good point Jeff Williams. They seem a bit confused, don't they? I'm sure it is just a misinterpretation on our part...

And, where was Mr. Redburn's City Council rep during all of this? Seems like there should have been some attempt, at least, at a resolution. Several years ago I had a small issue with a city department, and my rep contacted me before I could contact him.

Seems like the City hires quite a few outside folks, most often for engineering issues and studies. Are the department heads not qualified to, essentially, do their jobs? It's not just about supervising other employees. It's about having the knowledge and expertise to faciltate that department and the matters that department oversees.

  • Gwosdz said "Yet the city can't spend public money for a private benefit, he added"

Where was this side to the argument when parking lots were approved for the benefit of a private business in Riverside park?

  • why does the city have to pay for the city attorney to hire another attorney in this case ?

is the city attorney unqualified ?

  • The city attorney can't handle this by himself, or with the help of his staff? We have to keep going back to George Hyde?
