GANADO - Jean Synodinos will perform at the Rear Window Listening Room in Ganado on Saturday evening.
This will be the Austin-based singer-songwriter's first trip since she won first place in the 2011 Songwriter Serenade Competition in Hallettsville.
In order to win, she participated in a two-round, live competition. And, it wasn't easy. She said, "It was stiff competition. The level of talent truly knocked me out, too."
Synodinos is originally from the East Coast, but she calls herself an Austin-transplant.
This will be her first time coming to Ganado although she has played in LaGrange several times. She said the Crossroads community makes her feel welcome.
"Coming to this area is like coming to meet new family that I didn't know I had," she said.
The acoustic guitarist plays in several genres of music including folk, rock, jazz and blues.
She will perform songs from her upcoming CD, "Girls, Good & Otherwise," and previous albums, "Lucky" and "Breathe."
