Three people are in the DeWitt County Detention Center after a traffic stop resulted in their arrests on drug charges over a five-day period.

At 11 p.m. Saturday, a 2002 Cadillac was stopped by a sheriff's deputy for a traffic violation on state Highway 72, about six miles west of Cuero.

Several indicators pointed toward possible drug activity and the deputy received consent to search, according to the news release.

Fifteen grams of suspected methamphetamine were found in the car.

Stephanie Clark, 27, of Yorktown, was arrested. She was charged with possession/manufacturing a controlled substance with intent to deliver more than four grams but less than 200 grams.

On Tuesday, additional information was received by investigators that more narcotics may be hidden on Clark's person. A search warrant was obtained and Clark searched again while in custody.

About 30 grams of cocaine and 30 grams of meth were discovered. Two additional counts were added to Clark's charges. She was also charged for bringing a prohibitive substance into a correctional facility.

Clark remains in custody in lieu of bail totaling $400,000, according to the news release.

Continuing investigation led deputies to Robert Villarreal, 34 of Cuero, Clark's companion in the car during the initial traffic stop. He was arrested in Yorktown on a warrant for manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance and his bail was set at $75,000.

During the arrest, 30 grams of cocaine was discovered and an additional count of possession of a controlled substance in a drug-free zone was added to Villarreal's charges. That bail was set at $150,000

Also arrested was Erica Montelongo, 32, of Yorktown. She was charged with possession of a controlled substance in a drug-free zone and her bail was set at $150,000.

A 2002 Cadillac was also seized at the home, according to the news release.
