GBRA to discuss Eagle Ford Shale at Wednesday's meeting

The Eagle Ford Shale is up for discussion at Wednesday's monthly meeting of the Guadalupe-Blanco River Authority.
The meeting is scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Chisholm Trail Heritage Museum, 302 N. Esplanade St. in Cuero.
The river authority board will hear a presentation by Brent Halldorson, of Fountain Quail, a subsidiary of Aqua-Pure, on water management.
Drilling in the Eagle Ford Shale requires hydraulic fracturing, a drilling technique that requires a lot of water usage.
The board is also scheduled to hear a presentation by Elizabeth Jones, chairman of the Texas Railroad Commission.
The Railroad Commission regulates oil and gas in the state.
Jones' presentation will look at the commission's regulation of exploration and production of hydrocarbons associated with the Eagle Ford Shale.
