THUMBS-UP

Thumbs-up to nicer streets downtown. Wondering when they will be finished?

Elois, Victoria

THUMBS-DOWN

Thumbs-down to Gov. Rick Perry for his irresponsible veto of legislation outlawing texting while driving. Evidence shows texting is just as dangerous as drunk driving. His veto will cost many Texan lives. Let's hope the Legislature overrides his veto.

Raymond, Goliad

Thumbs-down to irresponsible pet owners who let their pets roam the neighborhood and poop in their neighbors' yards or even let them do it while walking them on a leash even at the hike and bike trail, which the city provides bags. Violators should be fined. Pooped out.

Max, Victoria

Thumbs-down: Billy Joe Harris wants the state of Texas to help pay for expert witnesses in his aggravated sexual assaults cases. That granted, would be a crime in itself. Ask those little old ladies what they think.

Eilien, Hallettsville
