What do you like best about athletics and sports?

I just like all the things you learn about it. You learn how to be a team player, how to sacrifice things for your team and perseverance. You just learn a lot of things you can use in life.

How was your senior year?

It was definitely the most fun year for me of all my high school and junior high years. Just the people I got to compete with and how well we did in track and basketball.

Why did you choose to play the sports you were in?

One reason was because of my coach (Daryl) Burns. He'd been coaching me since I was in seventh grade, so I just wanted to stick with him. When I picked up track in the 10th grade I just really fell in love with it. I liked it a lot.

What's your next step and why?

I chose Texas A&M because I like the campus and I like all the traditions there. When I visited everyone was really nice and friendly. That's one of the reasons I liked it and I'm just excited for the future.

Who are some of the people responsible for your success?

I would say definitely my parents for all the time they put into taking me to and from games, picking me up late at night. Coach Burns for teaching me so many things, not only about basketball, but about life and my teammates for always being there for me.

What drives you to be successful?

Just the feeling you get whenever you accomplish something. It's just an awesome feeling and I just want to do my best in everything I do.

What are some of the highlights of your year?

Going to the final four with our basketball team because a lot of us have been together since the sixth or seventh grade. That was a really memorable time. Also, the four seniors in the (1,600 meter relay). Last race, and they won first in state It was nice to know that we finished our last competition as state champions.
