A house bill State Rep. Geanie Morrison filed on performing a sonogram before an abortion is similar to one delayed for a vote in the Texas House on Wednesday.
HB 15 is up for vote again on Thursday and was filed by State Rep. Sid Miller.
If passed, it would require doctors to display the sonogram and play the fetal heartbeat as doctors describe the physical growth of the fetus.
Morrison's is similar but Miller's has more severe penalties for physicians who violate the legislation, said Justin Unruh, Morrison's chief of staff.
There are also several other small differences, he said.
Morrison's HB 201 is pending in the house committee on state affairs, Unruh added.
"It's up in the air," he said.
