Patti Welder Magnet Middle School was placed on lockdown for 30 minutes beginning at 1:40 p.m. Thursday.
The lockdown was in response to a student on another campus who reportedly made a threat against the Patti Welder campus, according to an e-mail from Diane Boyett, the district's communication specialist.
A teacher who overheard the threat reported it to the school resource officer on that campus, who then reported it to the school resource officer at Patti Welder, according to the e-mail.
The campus at 1604 E. North St. was locked down while authorities attempted to locate the student, who had been checked out of school for an appointment, according to the e-mail.
Boyett said no students were in danger, and the lockdown was a precautionary measure.
The student was in juvenile detention custody Thursday night, Boyett said.
