The University of Houston-Victoria hasn't played many home games this season, but that will change this week.
After playing five games in three home dates during the first six weeks of the season, the Jaguars (7-13) will play 11 games at Riverside Stadium in six days.
The homestand begins Sunday with a doubleheader against Fisher College of Boston beginning at 2 p.m.
UHV will also play three games against Texas Wesleyan, four against Sterling College of Kansas, and two more against Fisher College.
The Jaguars only day off this week will be Wednesday.
"We're playing much better," said UHV coach Terry Puhl. "I don't want us to play any less than we are playing now."
Puhl will have to make good use of his pitching staff. He plans to give everyone a chance to start with the exception of Casey Newman and Pete Ontiveros, who will be used in relief.
"We've been pitching fairly well," Puhl said. "If we continue to score runs like we have been we should win some games."
John Longoria is hitting .406 with four home runs and 20 RBI, and Austin Kent is hitting .377 with four home runs and 11 RBIs for the Jaguars, who are coming off a split of a four-game series at Northwood University.
"What I want to see this week is one our pitching goes deep into games," Puhl said, "and I'd like to see us get some wins."
