Former tennis pro to share 'Acing Depression'

NATIONAL ALLIANCE ON MENTAL ILLNESS
Former tennis professional Cliff Richey, often called the original "Bad Boy" of tennis before John McEnroe or Ilie Nastase, will be the guest speaker at the National Alliance on Mental Illness Victoria celebrity golf tournament March 25.
Richey, author of "Acing Depression: A Tennis Champion's Toughest Match," played tennis professionally for more than 25 years.
His career was highlighted by a 1970 season in which he led the U.S. to the Davis Cup title and finished as the first-ever Grand Prix world points championship.
Richey's daughter, Hilaire Richey Kallendorf, is the book's co-author and a professor of Hispanic Studies at Texas A&M Univeristy.
Richey will speak during the 5:30 p.m. dinner following the golf tournament. Dinner tickets for non-tournament participants are $15.
The golf tournament begins at noon at Colony Creek Country Club, 301 Colony Creek Drive.
Participants have a chance to win a Chevrolet Cruze with a hole in one sponsored by Atzenhoffer Chevrolet. Other sponsorship opportunities are also available.
Entry fee is $65.
Deadline to register for the tournament is Monday, March 21.
