  • Since this is suppose to be so open and so good for Victoria, how come there is so many articles trying to convince me of that. I know open, I know good - not sure this move from UHV to TAMU is either.

  • "While we advocate transparency in public actions in every case, it's clear no laws were broken in appropriating these funds."

Well, you're correct here editorial board...being unethical is not against the law. However, it's also not something I want in my city council, my mayor, or other city 'leaders'. I'm also kind of embarrassed for you for supporting this lack of ethics.

  • Hm. Pot-committed. We used to call it being way in over your head. Really, is this the best you could come up with for a justification? This is just embarrassing.

When this whole kerfuffle is over, there's going to be enough egg on everyone's face to make an omelette. The Advocate sees nothing wrong with covering up someone else's mistakes. Geanie Morrison sees no problem with carrying a bill to make UH-V a four-year university, then kicking them in the teeth after everything they've done to improve the intellectual climate of the area.

And the mayor - but what am I saying? "Nuclear Willie" couldn't look more foolish if he dressed in a bunny suit.

  • As an experienced poker player, I must say that finding myself "pot committed" is usually the result an over valued opinion of my hand.

  • Go "all-in" with your own money. Don't gamble with money fronted by the taxpayers.
