The city will reduce Convent Street to one lane eastbound between Liberty and William streets for the construction of a waterline beginning Thursday. The project is expected to take one week, weather permitting.
Drivers can expect delays in the work zone and should use alternate routes to access businesses and parking lots. On-street parking will be prohibited in the work zone.
This construction is part of the $2.23 million Downtown Water and Sewer Line Replacements project. The contractor is Matula & Matula Construction of Lake Jackson.
