Editor, the Advocate
We are very much in favor of curbside recycling. We take all of our recyclable's to the recycling center on Huvar Street. We think it's great to have curbside recycling so we don't have to take our recyclable's to Huvar Street. We don't want our landfills to fill up. We don't mind paying more for curbside recycling and trying to keep Victoria looking beautiful.
Everyone needs to do his or her part in recycling and keep recyclables out of the landfill. We try to purchase items or merchandise that can be recycled. We firmly believe that our Victoria community and our region will benefit from curbside recycling. We would really love for Victoria to have curbside recycling and to be like Houston. We hope Victoria can prosper and grow.
We are tickled pink to have curbside recycling. We hope everyone in Victoria will support curbside recycling. Please keep trash off Victoria streets and support the growth of Victoria.
We will gladly support curbside recycling to beautify the city of Victoria.
Arnold and Judy Wagner, Victoria

I hope Victoria is not a California city wannabe.
September 24, 2011 at 11:02 a.m.where is the closest recycling facility to victoria ?
April 1, 2011 at 9:18 a.m.So where are all the CAVE dwellers with their torches and pitchforks?
I'm waiting for Jeff Williams, Matt Ocker, and Russell Pruitt, to show up at the City Council podium to talk about how City Council has violated the City Charter by burdening the taxpayers with something that Private industry should be handling.
April 1, 2011 at 7:07 a.m.As I drove away from my house this morning I was thinking; one truck for the automated household waste pick-up, a second truck for the yard waste pickup, a third truck for recycling and a fourth truck to pick up limbs, etc.
Have we really made a net improvement in the environment by at least doubling and eventually tripling the number of times a large, gas/diesel guzzling, pollutant spouting vehicle travels up and down our residential streets? Is curbside recycling a proven benefit to the environment or just another politically correct program to promote? I saw one man present info at the council meeting stating that even the longest running recycling programs in California only have a 40% participation. After 10 plus years 60% of the people don't participate. Again, does the cost, monetary and environmental, of introducing the program really justify the potential results?
Mr./Mrs. Wagner I respect your opinion but I for one have no desire for Victoria to be like Houston.
