Ohio State students celebrate bin Laden's death

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - Ohio State University students cheered the death of Osama bin Laden by taking a midnight plunge into a lake on campus.

It's a celebration ritual usually reserved for the week before the Buckeyes' annual football game against longtime rival Michigan.

The Columbus Dispatch reports more than 1,000 Ohio State students crowded around and into Mirror Lake early on Monday chanting "U-S-A" while waving U.S. and Ohio flags.

One student soaking wet after emerging from the water told WBNS-TV that "finally, we have given a good punch to terrorism!" Others said of bin Laden: "He deserves to be dead."
