No security changes expected at Victoria airport
No changes in security measures are planned at Victoria Regional Airport in the wake of the death of Osama bin Laden on Sunday.
"We have not received any additional guidance at this time," said Jason Milewski, airport manager. "We are in constant contact with the Transportation Security Administration and, of course, remain on a high level of awareness."
As at other airports across the country, passengers boarding a commercial flight at the Victoria airport go through a metal detector, as well as a body screening by a TSA employee who also searches luggage as needed.
"We also have a private area if additional searches are necessary," Milewski said.
Two flights a day depart from Victoria to the Houston Intercontinental Airport.
