  • My wife and I stopped in for a quick breakfast taco when we were in a rush for breakfast last week. They were so good we came back for lunch and absolutely loved it. My wife ordered off of the menu and I the special. Our entrees arrived just as we were finishing our soups. Our drinks were never below half empty. And both times Robert came out to visit with us. I love the atmosphere (and the gumbo!)

  • A friend of mine from work and I went to Robert's a couple of weeks ago for lunch. It was a large disappointment. My friend ordered a sandwich and I ordered the chicken salad. We waited 40 minutes for a sandwich and a salad and, as a result, were late getting back to work. We joked that they must have had to go out and find a chicken. When we got our meals, my friend did enjoy her sandwich and my salad was good, and as fillling as salads ever tend to be. But, the dressing was only about enough to fill a thimble. I didn't bother to ask for more. When we were almost finished eating, the waitress finally came around to refill our water. The food was good, but the service was very bad.

    Another friend at work and his wife went this past week. Their meals were served very quickly. But, they ordered the daily special, which I presume was made in advance. Unless there have been changes made in the service at Robert's, if you go, don't bother with the menu and simply order the special.
