State rests in drug charge case

The state's prosecution rested Wednesday on the first day of the trial for a Victoria man who faces drug charges.

Kennard Shanton Johnson, 23, is charged with felony unlawful possession of a controlled substance possession of cocaine, less than one gram, in August.

He was indicted in January.

Assistant District Attorney Johna Stallings is prosecuting the case.

Johnson is represented by attorney Keith Weiser.

A verdict is expected on Thursday.
