2nd annual Texana Outdoor Expo comes to Brackenridge Main Event Center

The second annual Texana Outdoor Expo is coming to the Brackenridge Main Event Center in Edna on Saturday.
The Expo, hosted by the Lavaca-Navidad River Authority, and Texas Parks and Wildlife is a regional educational event promoting knowledge and appreciation of the outdoors.
Attendees of the Expo can participate in a host of all-day outdoor activities including bass fishing demonstrations, shooting compound bows at dimensional targets and kayaking demonstrations.
Other educational exhibits include snake demonstrations from the Texas Zoo, live alligator demonstrations from the Texas State Aquarium, and live salt water species touch tanks from the Perry R. Bass Marine Hatchery, a laser shoot, a skin and skulls exhibit, among others.
The Expo is also introducing new educational seminars on Saturday such as cooking demonstrations by Cooking Depot and Chef Molly; Waterfowl Identification; Identifying Wild Edibles; Texas Feral Swine History, Status and Research by Greg Pleasant. Other seminars will be given throughout the day and can be scheduled on Saturday.
Some of the new children's activities at the Expo include the Kid's Catch and Release Fishing Derby from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the MEC fishing pond, for kid's 3-15 years old. Trophies will be awarded in two categories at the conclusion of the derby.
Tickets to the Expo are $5 and children 12 and under are free. Doors open to the public at 10 a.m. and the Expo closes at 6 p.m.
