  • If I was the city planners I would hold off a while before projecting that the increase in sales tax revenues will continue for the remainer of the year. Many people over the last few months had income tax refunds they spent.

  • Victoria Advocate, If I may make this suggestion about future articles on sales tax revenue, and real estate market conditions:

    Along with your article please publish a simple chart showing current and previous years collections in raw dollar amounts. The readers can then draw their own conclusions from these numbers ... and not have to rely on the slant, or the point of view that your reporter is selling.

    What is actually going on, is at least as important as what you say is going on.
