A Victoria man was arrested on suspicion of murder Saturday night in the 7400 block of Old San Antonio River Road.
Grady Wayne Duncan was taken into custody about 11:30 p.m., suspected of shooting Goliad resident Forrest Marks, 38, at Duncan's home, Victoria Sheriff's Department Chief Deputy Terry Simons and Lt. Tom Copeland confirmed Sunday.
"The arrested party said the deceased was at his property. The two of them were drinking and the subject was shot after making some threats against (Duncan) and his family," Simons said.
The 911 emergency call was made from Duncan's home, possibly from Duncan's wife, and law enforcement officials responded to the residence about 10:30 p.m., Simons said.
Marks was pronounced dead at the scene by Precinct 2 J.P. Stuart Posey, Copeland said.
Marks' body was transported to Travis County for an autopsy. It is unknown what area of Marks' body was shot.
Simons did not know if Duncan was carrying the gun when the shooting occurred, but could not comment about the details of the case while it is under investigation.
Members of the Duncan and Marks families could not immediately be reached Sunday.
