All is calm before the storm in Goliad.
The county is prepared for hurricane season with its emergency action plan, just as it has been in years past, said Emergency Management Coordinator Andy Torres.
"We do have an emergency command center that we'll activate if it warrants," he said. "We'll man that 24 hours if it looks like it (a hurricane) is coming our way."
Torres said one of Goliad's main obstacles during hurricane season isn't necessarily the storms themselves, but the flood of traffic that comes through the town.
"We'll work with the local businesses to let them know to beef up on their supplies and let them know what to expect," Torres said.
He said the emergency management department will work with the sheriff's office and EMS department to ensure the safety of all Goliad residents during hurricane season.
"We have things set up to help special needs folks as part of the action plan," he said.
