Blue Santa program now accepting applications for 2011 Holiday Season
Blue Santa of Victoria is now accepting applications for the 2011 Holiday Season.
Blue Santa is a joint effort of the Victoria Police Department and Victoria residents.
The project is aimed at providing Christmas gifts for the less fortunate in Victoria.
Applications will be accepted between Nov. 1 and Dec. 2 for children ages 1 to 12.
Applications can be picked up at the Victoria Police Department's Mall Substation next to Chick-fil-A.
Applicants can only apply for their own household, and the children listed on the application must reside in that household.
Additionally, applicants must live within the city limits of Victoria.
Incomplete, incorrect or inaccurate applications will be disqualified.
Applicants who apply with other organizations (i.e.; Toys for Tots, Salvation Army, etc.) will automatically be disqualified, as you may only apply for one program to qualify for Blue Santa.
Gift delivery will be on Saturday, Dec. 17. Applicants should make plans to be home on the delivery date. Undelivered gifts will be held for only five days.
The success of the Blue Santa program depends on the generous contributions from businesses and individuals.
We accept donations of toys and money.
The money is used at local businesses in the community to purchase toys for the program.
City of Victoria police officers, employees and volunteers donate their time to wrap and deliver the gifts to our citizens.
