Texas Recycles Day, held each year on Nov. 15, is a statewide public awareness campaign educating Texans about the environmental and economic benefits of waste reduction and recycling.
As part of this campaign, the City of Victoria Environmental Services Department is making plans to educate residents about the importance of recycling and going green by hosting an ECO Adventure Recycling Scavenger Hunt in downtown Victoria on Nov. 14-18.
During the scavenger hunt, participants will follow the clues to 28 downtown restaurants and businesses. They will have five days to complete the hunt. The first 50 participants to submit their completed scavenger hunt brochures at an ECO party from 1-5 p .m. on Nov. 19 at the Nave Museum will win a recycling bin filled with "green" goodies. If you are unable to attend the ECO party, completed brochures may be submitted to Environmental Services at 700 Main Center, Ste. 113 to claim an alternate prize. The ECO party will feature hot dogs and hamburgers, recycling crafts and free admission to the museum.
