Thank you Sgt. Allen for your service and sacrifice.
It is a total travesty at how our veterans are treated. Though it does little to lessen your situation, please keep in mind it is not your country that has forsaken you, but the overburdened and unfeeling bureaucracy that is to blame. Your country (the people) know of your service and will never forget.
I hope and pray that your case is resolved soon for your sake.
ASIDE:Leave it to pilot to compare a disabled veteran denied benefits he is owed and earned to a welfare mooch demanding entitlements never earned.
Thank you, Mr. Allen, for an excellent reminder of the debt we owe those who went in harms way in defense of our coutry. The treatment of veterans with service-connected disabilities by the VA is a national scandal and it cannot get enough publicity. This sort of treatment amounts to reneging on a promise made to these veterans and it is despicable.
Please forgive my gross overstatement on my earlier post. Should have done some research before poping off. It was in 1932 and the number was 43,000 Veterans and families.
Sadly, this in no way lessens the lack of respect our VA shows for our Veterans. This is inexcusible and our elected "leaders" must stand by those that have given so much.
May want to do a little history reminder. Following WW1 over 1 million Veterans marched on Washington DC to protest thier treatment over promised benefits. Did not turn out well.
I wish my fellow Veteran God Speed and good luck. To those that are suppost to support him they may want to rethink thier re-election hopes.
i have been going through the same stuff since 1979
