    A friend of mine had similar event. He used all three - kitchen, garage, and utility room extinguishers, and garden hose before our fire dept arrived. His was a total loss. Fire extinguisher is an important tool, but prevention is worth much much more.
    Wish him every success in his recovery from event. Sad and scary.

    I guess he had no fire extingusher in the kitchen.
