FEMA , FCC tests Emergency Alert System at 1 p.m. today

FEMA and the FCC will test the Emergency Alert System across the U.S. at 1 p.m. Wednesday, according to a news release from the Victoria Office of Emergency Management.

This test is the first of its kind in the history of the Emergency Alert System. The test should last about 30 seconds, during which a test message will be aired across television, radio, and other communication mediums.

The Victoria OEM encourages Victorians to make this test an opportunity to communicate with friends, family, co-workers and employees about the importance of preparedness.
