Citizens Medical Center Auxiliary honors junior volunteers
The Citizens Medical Center volunteer members held their quarterly meeting with President Virginia Shults presiding.
The meeting opened with the volunteer members reciting the Pledge of Allegiance led by Irene Petru. Dorothy Bohn led the prayer for hospital auxiliaries.
The president welcomed new members Sharon Cobb, Kathy Labian and Jacque Craig.
The minutes from the last meeting were read and approved. The treasurer gave the financial report, and it was filed.
The Standing Committee reports were given. The Scholarship Committee reported that seven nursing scholarships were awarded for the fall 2011 semester.
The program for the day honored junior volunteers who volunteered 1,136.5 hours for the summer. Each volunteer was given a certificate of recognition, a $10 gift certificate, and lunch of pizza, salad, and drinks. The junior volunteers who participated in the program were Katy Alex, Thalia Baladez, Mark Chavez, Bridget Erdelt, Alexa Garza, Elizabeth Gonzales, Lilibeth Gonzales, Terri Gutierrez, Catherine Irrobali, Elena Kees, Mariah Mercadeo, Kami Monney, Hetvi Patel, Heidi Shay, Katie Streeter, Mariah Trevino, Dalton Tucker, Caleb Villarreal, and Tevin Williams.
The president announced the masquerade jewelry fundraiser will be Nov. 17 and 18; the auxiliary Christmas meeting will be Dec. 7 at the Citizens. The meeting was adjourned.
