the city i moved here from recently finished construction of condo units located Downtown that were on sale for $400,000. just about nobody bought one. it wasn't just about the economy, but because Downtown wasn't an attraction at all because there was so little to do.
Downtown Victoria is in a similar situation if not worse. how would you market expensive townhomes? come and shop at our one downtown shop? go eat at Subway! lets sit in the park with the homeless people?
i can't imagine these townhomes doing very well at all if the project goes forward. what's the value of getting a home in the downtown are when you could get a lot of land just outside the city or a twice-as-big home right off Navarro for the same price?
Who buys a half million dollar town home in this region? People with that kind of money certainly don't want to live in a town home.
175k to 275k range seems much, much more believable for this area
$300,000 to $500,000 buys a lot more than Spanish-styled townhomes in Victoria
