Pickup hits vehicles stopped for funeral procession

A four-car wreck occurred at the intersection of North Navarro Street and Mockingbird Lane on Wednesday afternoon. The driver of a white truck failed to stop as a funeral procession was passing causing a chain-reaction collision into three other vehicles. No one was injured.

Four cars collided at 2 p.m. Wednesday. No one suffered major injuries.

Vehicle operators were asked to yield to a funeral procession, crossing North Navarro Street at Mockingbird Lane, according to investigating officer Herschel Buck of the Victoria Police Department.

A white pickup, driven by Ernesto Perez, heading north on Navarro Street, crashed into the back of a black sports utility vehicle, driven by Lawson Love.

Love's car hit a Toyota sedan, which bumped a Pontiac G6 into traffic.

Buck said some of the vehicle occupants were evaluated on the scene, but refused treatment.

Perez, from Victoria, was cited for failure to control speed.
