Planning to hit the stores early on Black Friday? Here are a few shopper tips from store managers in the know:

Go online and check out the deals. Make out a list and form a plan of attack. Also scout out stores in advance, so you know where items are.

-Brenda Whitney, JC Penney assistant store manager

Go early and bundle up, if the weather is cold.

  • Mike Yokum, Target store manager

Ask store personnel for assistance if you need help either locating an item you're looking for or for gift ideas in general.

  • Ray Shannon, Lentz True Value Hardware store manager

Stay positive in line. You might be out there for a little while, but the deals are often worth the wait.

  • Adrian Lopez, Best Buy store manager

Want to see what else the stores will have on sale? Hit the Internet.

Many store websites already have their Black Friday deals posted. And, for those that don't, theblackfriday.com has many available for view.

As Thanksgiving inches its way closer on the calendar, it's more than turkey and stuffing filling some people's minds.

For some, those Black Friday deals are equally important.

The Apple iPad tops children's electronics wish lists this year, according to a recent Nielsen survey, while computers, TVs and others similar items also rank high.

Not completely sure you want to go that route? No problem.

Here are some of the day-after-Thanksgiving deals - not geared solely for the kiddos - that we think are worth a look.
