Beginning Thursday, Victoria Transit will change its weekend and evening job access services routes.

The Flex Routes will change to Fixed Routes offering riders a more efficient service, according to a news release from the Golden Crescent Regional Planning Commission that operates the transportation system.

Victoria Transit will also add a free Para-transit Service designed for riders who, because of their disability, are not able to get to a bus stop.

The four Job Access Routes will consist of four fixed routes operating in the north, south and central areas within the Victoria city limits. Buses will run on these routes every 30 minutes, from 6 to 10 p.m. Monday through Friday; 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday; and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday.

The Para-transit service will be provided to qualified people who have both trip origins and destinations within a 3/4

To determine eligibility contact the Victoria Transit office at 361-578-8775 on Monday through Friday or 877-538-6819 on weekends one day in advance.
