Max Stalling will perform in Victoria on Thursday at Fossati's Park. The Texas-based songwriter will headline the Party in the Park concert hosted by the Victoria Symphony Orchestra.

Clay Crockett and The Shotgun Riders will open for Stalling.

"It's a fun-filled event with good food and good music," said Michelle Hall.

Hall, the executive director, said many concert goers wanted Stalling to come. Last year, there was an informal poll to determine future acts.

He earned a master's degree in food science from Texas A&M University at College Station. Now, he graces the stage with songs like "Home to You" and "I Ain't Drinking Alone."

Staying true to his roots, Stalling this year received a Lonestar Music Award nomination for best album and a best male vocal.
