AARP Chapter 829 - Victoria had its Sept. 27, meeting at the Victoria County Senior Citizens Center, 603 E. Murray St. at 1 p.m.

Dr. Efren Diaz DeLeon, president, welcomed everyone to the meeting. Members were encouraged to bring a guest interested in becoming members to the social meeting. Local dues are $5 per year. Thirty were present.

Treasurer Lois Smith was welcomed back after her absence because of heart surgery.

Natalie Gilbert, chaplain for the chapter, celebrated her 94 birthday with birthday cake and flowers.

The next meeting will be Oct. 25. O.C. Garza, Information Specialist for the city of Victoria will be the speaker.
