Laureate Alpha Omicron holds meeting

Laureate Alpha Omicron Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi met recently in the home of Frances Smith with Loretta Johnson presiding. Joann Locher presented the program on the historic "Painted Churches" in the Schulenburg area. She showed photos of the various Catholic churches and the Freyburg Methodist Church. Brochures were circulated and a brief history of each church given.
Susana Moya reminded members to bring toiletries to the last meeting in October to be given to Perpetual Help Home. A Dutch treat dinner was served by the Ways and Means Committee prior to the business session. Dessert was provided by Johnson.
A citywide social for Beta Sigma Phi Chapters was scheduled for Oct. 13 at the Locher home. A Bunco party is planned for 7 p.m.
The area convention was held on Sept. 24 at the Mustang Island Retreat Center in Port Aransas. Chapter members in attendance included: Johnson, Mary Helen Goldsmith, Louise Pletcher, Marilyn Logan, Virginia Sullivan, Dorothy Koenig and Locher.
