Donna Walentovic, at 301 Pecos Drive in Cimarron, has decorated her front yard with ghosts and skeletons for Halloween. Wind gust of 27 mph push the decorations into a swaying motion that catches attention.

Fall fell Tuesday - at least for this week in South Texas.

The high temperature in Victoria dropped 14 degrees - from 90 degrees at 3:13 p.m. Monday to a high of 76 degrees at 2:37 p.m. Tuesday, according to Lara Keys with the National Weather Service.

Weather was predicted to drop to the mid-40s Tuesday night. Temperatures Wednesday are projected to range from the highs in the mid-70s and low temperatures in the lower to mid-40s, Keys said.

Winds began picking up around 10 a.m. Tuesday with the cold front blowing in from the north, Keys said.

Victoria sustained winds of 33 mph, with the maximum gust around 43 mph.
