Victoria College will hold a nursing information night in Hallettsville on Nov. 10 for those interested in the vocational nursing program.
"We have implemented some critical changes to our application process and the process starts much earlier this year than it has in past years," said Patricia Grahmann, Hallettsville's Vocational Nursing Program secretary. "We want to be sure to reach as many prospective students as possible."
VC's vocational nursing program is a one-year certificate program designed to enable students to acquire the knowledge, skills and competencies related to enhancing the health and well-being of individuals.
Vocational nursing graduates are prepared to function as members of the health care team under the supervision of registered nurses and physicians in varied health care settings. The vocational nursing program can also serve as a bridge for those wishing to continue into VC's Associate Degree Nursing Program to earn certification as a registered nurse.
Completion of the program qualifies the learner to apply to write the National Licensure Exam for Practical Nurses.
