Thumbs-up, thumbs-down; it's your choice

Sept. 2, 2011 at 4:02 a.m.

THUMBS-UP

Thumbs-up: I would like to resonate the message by Bill Blanchard Jr. on the beauty of the downtown sidewalks.

With the project finished, I wish to say that they are absolutely beautiful and their design add so much to the downtown area.

I plan to do my daily walk soon to actually use them for the first time. I thank the city of Victoria for being "aesthetically" correct on this one.

Viola, Victoria

Thumbs-up to Kim Thornsburg. Your recent letter concerning VISD dress code was great.

You made such valid points about dress code being connected to academics.

Truth hurts sometimes, right?

Vicki, Cypress

Thumbs-up to Wayne Dierlam for organizing the community prayer for rain. And thumbs-up to the Victoria Advocate for having the column by author Mitch Albom on the Viewpoints page.

Mary Ann, Moulton

THUMBS-DOWN

Thumbs-down to all the entrenched naysayers in Victoria. Getting tired of hearing the whining and complaining. We should work together and move on. What does the future hold for our kids?

Jeremy, Victoria
