  • Love this series. Reminds me of all of the times when I was young and went fishing on the coast with my family, and saw lots of shrimp boats. Now, it's rare that I see them. Good writing. I can see the murkey water and the big ship coming through stirring it up that way.Just thought of the old Jo Stafford song:
    "Shrimp boats are a'coming. Their sails are in sight. Shrimp boats are a'coming, there's dancing tonight."
    Can''t wait to read Part 3. Love the video too. We need more stories like this that show the true Texas spirit!

  • Let's get this right: The real reason the state places moratorium on shrimping is because international special interest groups, mostly from Red China ply the USA politicians pockets with tons of money so they can sell us their shrimp. Just like this has been occurring with every other state and national business which makes it impossible to compete on an international level.
    Plain and simple.
