Police officers vs. firefighters in kickball: All for a good cause

COST: $5 per person, children 12 and under are free.

Victoria emergency personnel will face off in a kickball game Friday to benefit the city's United Way Campaign.

The Victoria Police Department and the Victoria Fire Department will compete in the third annual Battle of the Badges at Rosebud Stadium in Riverside Park. The winning team will receive a plaque to keep on display in their department until the tournament the following year.

Admission is $5 per person and children 12 and under are free. Concessions will be available. All proceeds will go to Victoria County's United Way Agencies.

A tribute honoring local veterans will begin the opening ceremony at 5:30 p.m. The kickball game will be from 6 to 7 p.m., followed by a live musical performance by The Rackit from 7 to 10 p.m.
